Non-surgical body treatments in Medellín

Non-surgical body treatments improve the firmness, contour and quality of the skin on the body: abdominal and arm laxity, localized fat, fibrosis after liposuction, buttocks, cellulite, stretch marks and darkening of the underarms or intimate area. Each one has its own cause and its own treatment.

Dr. Olga Gómez Montoya, physician and surgeon from the University of Antioquia, first assesses what is happening in your body and tells you honestly what can and cannot be achieved without surgery.

What we do

Which body treatments do we offer, and what are they for?

The body changes with pregnancy, weight fluctuations, menopause and the passage of time. The skin loses collagen and firmness, fat builds up in areas where it didn't before and, after surgery, some areas may be left hard or uneven.

That is why there is no single body treatment. We choose based on the goal:

How do you treat abdominal skin laxity?

Mild to moderate abdominal laxity can improve with collagen biostimulators, such as diluted Radiesse® or Sculptra®, which prompt your skin to produce new collagen and gradually gain firmness. If there is also localized fat, it is combined with hydrolipoclasis. When there is a lot of excess skin or abdominal diastasis, surgery is usually the right option, and we will tell you so.

Are body treatments right for you?

They are for you if…

  • You notice the skin on your abdomen or arms is less firm.
  • You have localized fat that doesn't budge with diet and exercise.
  • You were left with hard or uneven areas after liposuction.
  • You want to improve your body without going into an operating room.

It's not the right time if…

  • You are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • You are looking to lose weight.
  • You expect the result of surgery in a single session.

Body treatments guided by medical judgment

We don't promise overnight changes in dress size. We assess your body calmly, explain what is realistic to achieve without surgery and determine how many sessions you need.

Sessions

Outpatient procedures in a calm, private setting. Before applying any product, we show you its brand and its INVIMA registration.

Follow-up

We monitor your progress between sessions and give you guidance on care, physical activity and compression when needed.

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions about body treatments

How do you treat abdominal skin laxity?

It depends on the cause and the degree. When laxity is mild or moderate, collagen biostimulators such as diluted Radiesse®, Sculptra®, Juvelook® Volume, Facetem® or Elleva X can gradually improve skin firmness over 2 to 3 months. We choose the product based on the area, the thickness of your skin and the degree of laxity. If there is also localized fat, it can be combined with hydrolipoclasis. When there is a lot of excess skin or separation of the abdominal muscles (diastasis), surgery is usually the right option, and in that case we will tell you honestly.

What can be done about arm laxity?

Strength training helps the muscle, but it doesn't always improve the skin. When the skin on the arm has lost firmness, collagen biostimulators such as diluted Radiesse®, Sculptra® or Juvelook® Volume can gradually improve its quality. If there is localized fat, hydrolipoclasis is considered. Marked excess skin may require a surgical assessment.

Which biostimulators are used on the abdomen and arms?

At the practice we work with diluted Radiesse® (calcium hydroxylapatite), Sculptra® (poly-L-lactic acid), Juvelook® Volume, Facetem® and Elleva X. All of them stimulate your own collagen, but they behave differently, which is why the product, the dilution and the number of sessions are chosen at your assessment. Before applying it, we show you the brand and its INVIMA registration. Learn more about collagen biostimulators.

What can I do about laxity or fibrosis after liposuction?

They are two different things. Fibrosis means hard or lumpy areas and is treated with enzymes, over several sessions. Laxity is less firm skin and is treated with collagen biostimulators. Many patients have both, which is why they are assessed together and the plan is carried out in stages.

What is fibrosis and how is it treated?

It is a hardening of the tissue that can appear after liposuction or other procedures. It feels like hard areas, lumps or irregularities. It is treated with enzymes applied to the area, over several sessions, depending on the degree of fibrosis we find at your assessment.

Do body treatments help you lose weight?

No. They are designed to improve contour, firmness and skin quality in specific areas. They work best for people who are close to their usual weight and have healthy habits. If your goal is to lose weight, we will guide you toward that first.

Which body treatment do I need?

It depends on what bothers you most and its cause: laxity, localized fat, fibrosis, cellulite, stretch marks and dark spots are not treated the same way. At your assessment we identify what predominates and start with what will have the greatest impact in your case.

Can several body treatments be combined?

Yes, and it is often the right approach. For example, hydrolipoclasis for localized fat and biostimulators for skin firmness, or a buttock plan together with a cellulite plan. We combine them in stages to protect your recovery.

How many sessions do I need, and when will I see results?

It depends on the treatment and the area. Many protocols are planned over several sessions, and the changes are progressive: with biostimulators, firmness becomes noticeable between 2 and 3 months. The exact number of sessions is determined at your assessment.

Do they hurt? How much recovery do they need?

They are outpatient procedures and well tolerated. There may be mild discomfort during the session and temporary tenderness, swelling or bruising in the area. Most patients return to their routine quickly, following the care instructions we give you.

When is surgery the better option?

When there is significant excess skin, abdominal diastasis or an amount of fat that aesthetic medicine cannot realistically address. In those cases we tell you clearly and refer you to the appropriate specialty.

Who should not have these treatments?

They are not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding, with infections or wounds in the area, or with certain medical conditions or medications that are reviewed at the assessment. That is why a prior medical assessment is essential.

How much do body treatments cost in Medellín?

It depends on the treatment, the area and the number of sessions you actually need. At your assessment in El Poblado we explain the plan and its investment clearly before you decide. Message us ASSESSMENT.
